Happy or Content?

What makes you “happy”? What does your “happy” look like? Do you truly know? Everyone wants to be “happy”. Happiness is always the ultimate goal. However, I’m starting to get the feeling that we are confusing happy with being content. I think we’re confused about what’s going to make us happy. It is critical to distinguish between the definition of happiness as being joy and elation, and the definition of happiness as being contentment and well being. When is the last time you were “happy”? How often do you say and believe, “I’ll be happy when I ______________?

Why does your happiness lie within terms and conditions?

Somewhere along the way we’ve adapted this mindless misconception that “things” will make us happy. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but…they won’t. No person nor thing can do what you need to do for yourself. “Things” don’t fill voids. You can obtain every “thing” you want and feel completely empty. It’s the soul that needs the surgery. Find your peace and happiness within yourself.

  1. So totally true! Some people spend their whole lives waiting for the next “thing” or “job” or “person” that’s truly going to make them happy.
