Mask Off

No, this isn’t going to be about Futures latest hit….but now that I got your attention. What mask are you wearing that you should probably take off? Nobody has a perfect life. Period. Understand the embellished version of people’s lives they share & show is their mask. In vice versa. What a person is actually going through may be unimaginable to some. Stop looking to people thinking their lives are better than yours. You don’t know the hell some people go through just to get out of the bed in the morning. Don’t compare or wish you lived any other life than your own. You may see the smiles, glamour, and glory but while you’re watching that remember…everything comes with a price, everything. Behind the smiles, material things, lies insurmountable problems in everyone’s personal life. You know, because you experience problems too. Yet you put on your mask to portray this image that everything is okay when it’s not. I guess somewhere along the way we’ve all adopted this “fake it until you make it” mentality and ran with it. It is okay to be yourself and not who you think everybody wants you to be, or looks for you to be. Your life will never be perfect and neither will the lives of people who you’re trying to prove it to. It’s okay to be who God created you to be. In doing so if you lose relationships for being authentically you, just know they weren’t meant for you to begin with. Change for the better. Have the courage to outgrow some people and relationships. Just Grow. Be the best version of you, unapologetically. Take the mask off.

Fuck it, mask off.
